THE EVENT Fashion On The Square (FOTS) is the most highly anticipated and largest outdoor runway fashion extravaganza on the West Coast. In celebration of its 5th consecutive year, FOTS will rip the runway again on Saturday, July 19th at 2:00 PM on Union Square Park in San Francisco. TITLE DESIGNER - CHRIS MARCH FOTS is honored to have March, a San Francisco native as a Title Designer this year.  March is best known for his work on the giant trademark hats and wigs of America's longest running show, "Beach Blanket Babylon" which earned him great acclaim.  March was a finalist on Bravo's Project Runway where he showed a amazing collection at New York Fashion Week earlier this year.  March is a freelance costume designer who currently resides in New York City and his client list includes Cirque du Soleil, Madonna, Thierry Mugler, Joe Boxer, Macy's, Virgin, and Disney. March's creations have appeared on Entertainment Tonight, HBO, Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, Tyra, the Today Show, E!, the New York Times and MTV. (www.chrismarchdesign.com)   PREMIER DESIGNER - VIRGIL ORTIZ Heavily sought out by celebrities and collectors alike, supernova American Indian fashion designer Virgil Ortiz is taking Native fashion to the next level. After a highly successful collaboration with fashion mogul Donna Karan, Ortiz has since launched his own line Indigene; luxury outerwear, handbags, accessories, cashmere and t-shirts all bearing the signature marks inspired by his highly stylized ceramic imagery. Ortiz is intent on creating opportunities for children and his community that reflect the legacy of his ancestors as well as promoting global awareness of Pueblo culture. (www.virgilortiz.com) THE LOCATION Union Square is third largest retail space in the country. During the summer months, the Union Square Association reports that daily foot traffic in Union Square Park exceeds 10,000 tourists.
